Wisuda Sekolah Dilarang Mewah, Wali Kota Malang Tegas Tolak Pungutan ke Orang Tua Siswa
CITILIVE – Wali Kota Malang Wahyu Hidayat menegaskan sekolah negeri di Kota Malang dilarang melakukan pungutan kepada siswa maupun wali murid, termasuk untuk kegiatan wisuda dan perpisahan sekolah. Pemkot Malang meminta seluruh sekolah menggelar acara secara sederhana tanpa membebani orang tua siswa.
Penegasan tersebut disampaikan menyusul munculnya keluhan masyarakat terkait biaya wisuda sekolah yang dinilai terlalu mahal dan memberatkan wali murid. “Tidak boleh ada pungutan apa pun,” tegas Wahyu Hidayat.
Menurutnya, kegiatan perpisahan sekolah tetap diperbolehkan, namun pelaksanaannya diminta tidak dilakukan secara berlebihan apalagi sampai digelar di hotel dengan biaya tinggi.
Ia meminta sekolah lebih mengutamakan kesederhanaan dan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekolah sebagai lokasi kegiatan dibanding menyewa gedung atau hotel mewah.
“Dilaksanakan bisa di sekolah, tidak perlu di hotel. Yang penting jangan sampai memberatkan,” ujarnya.
Wahyu menegaskan larangan pungutan berlaku khususnya bagi sekolah negeri tingkat SD dan SMP yang berada di bawah kewenangan Pemerintah Kota Malang. Ia juga mengingatkan agar sekolah tidak menggunakan komite sebagai celah melakukan pungutan kepada wali murid.
Menurutnya, kondisi ekonomi masyarakat saat ini harus menjadi perhatian bersama. Karena itu, sekolah diminta lebih peka terhadap kemampuan orang tua siswa.
Kebijakan tersebut sekaligus menjadi bentuk evaluasi terhadap tren wisuda sekolah yang belakangan dinilai semakin mewah dan menimbulkan beban tambahan bagi wali murid.
Sebelumnya, sejumlah orang tua siswa mengeluhkan biaya wisuda yang mencapai ratusan ribu hingga hampir Rp1 juta per siswa. Biaya tersebut meliputi sewa tempat, pakaian wisuda, dokumentasi, hingga kebutuhan acara lainnya.
Pemkot Malang berharap sekolah tetap menjadikan momentum kelulusan sebagai bentuk apresiasi sederhana terhadap siswa tanpa harus mengedepankan kemewahan. (Shin)
