CITILIVE – Selasa dini hari, 2 Mei 2023, Malang Plaza atau Plaza Malang mengalami kebakaran hebat.

Pusat perbelanjaan yang berada di Jalan KH Agus Salim 28, Kota Malang ini dilaporkan terjadi kebakaran hebat pada pukul 01.20 WIB.

Dalam video yang beredar, terlihat api nyaris melahap bangunan Malang Plaza hingga lantai atas yang merupakan gedung Bioskop Mandala 21.

Si jago merah juga menghanguskan seluruh isi mal yang berisi pakaian, gadget, dan barang elektronik.

Terlihat api yang melahap Plaza Malang semakin membara dan kepulan asap membumbung tinggi.

Sementara itu, sejumlah Damkar dan relawan turun tangan berusaha memadamkan api.

Hingga berita ini diturunkan, belum diketahui apa yang menjadi penyebab kebakaran plaza tertua di Kota Malang tersebut.

Sekadar diketahui, Malang Plaza didirikan pada era 80-an yang dulunya terkenal sebagai sentra fashion dan pusat perbelanjaan utama di pusat Kota Malang.
